Twin Peaks Stars Reunite for Independent Short Film

April 20, 2025 – [Athens, GA] — Twin Peaks fans are in for something strange and wonderful. A new short film titled Send in the Owl is in development, featuring a cast of beloved Twin Peaks actors and produced by the award-winning team at Ludivico Pictures.

Starring Harry Goaz (as the voice of Deputy Andy Brennan) and Kathleen Deming as the enigmatic Buella, the film also features Robert Broski, and Christian Calloway — all directly connected to the iconic world created by David Lynch and Mark Frost.

Set in the mythic, dreamlike universe adjacent to Twin Peaks, Send in the Owl explores the mysterious origin story of Buella, the fierce backwoods mystic and madam who clawed her way through the underworld to become Mr. C's ally.

Inspired by Wendy Davis’ fan fiction “Buella, a Psychopathic Criminal,” which was originally selected for the Twin Peaks: The Fan Dossier contest hosted by WelcomeToTwinPeaks.com, the film honors and expands the deep mythology that fans have long been obsessed with.

“This is a 100% independent production,” says Nick Peetros, the film’s producer. “There’s no corporate sponsorship, no product placement, and no AI — just passionate filmmakers and a deep love for the world of Twin Peaks. We’re building something strange and beautiful for the fans, by the fans.”

Send in the Owl will be crowdfunded via Indiegogo, with early-bird signups now open for fans who want first access to exclusive perks — including their name in the credits, limited-edition collectibles, or even lunch with Buella and the Woodsmen.
